About Coastal Plain

The Coastal Plain stretches along Israel’s Mediterranean Sea from the north to the south.

It is home to more than half of Israel’s population. It includes major urban centres, cultural sites, deep water harbours, beaches, nature reserves, archaeological sites, agricultural farms and orchards.

The Mediterranean coast means stunning beaches and recreation.

Thousands flock to the turquoise beaches, to bask in the sun, catch wonderful pictures, indulge in a range of water activities, swim, wade, run, sail and tan. October is the ideal time to visit the beast beaches in Israel.

Tel Aviv’s White City is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Constructed by German immigrants in the 1920s and 30s, the White City has grown into one of the city’s coolest and trendiest districts. It is home to more Bauhaus or International Style architecture than any city in the world.

Caesarea Maritima offers some of the most exciting Crusader ruins in the country.

Built by Herod the Great, this ancient world wonder was once the wealthy and cosmopolitan capital of the Roman province of Judaea before it was conquered and destroyed.
